Introduction to the Not-So-Hot Mess Mama

So, admittedly, I am a Pinterest addict. And through my addiction, I have discovered countless blogs by mommies that seem to be "Super Woman". I love reading each of them, and yes, I get SO many ideas from them. But at the end, I'm always left feeling.....inadequate.

I don't knit, crochet, or sew. My kids clothes are all store bought, my house is a mess (despite my CONSTANT efforts to organize and clean), I have to work at my marriage EVERY DAY, I don't cook everything from scratch (gasp...I DO use boxed mashed potatoes and canned veggies sometimes, and we aren't strangers to a drive through), and my child is NOT perfectly behaved.

BUT. I do TRY to be crafty and make things for my home, especially when I can do them with my son. I DO clean every single day, because I am a self proclaimed clean freak (ok, ok, germaphobe....MAJOR). My husband isn't the perfect man, but he IS the perfect man for ME. I love when I can snag fresh fruit and veggies from road side stands and farmer's markets, and I will buy them every chance I get. Drive through's are only a last resort, and I always make sure Landon eats better than I do. And, we're figuring out how to be a one year old together, as a family. There are horrible days, and there are amazing days. But every day is REAL.

That's what this blog is about. My every day, real life as a wife and mother. The ups, the downs, the screams of joy and the screams of pure and total exhaustion. There will be tears (I cry a lot), and there will be laughs (I find a LOT funny). I hope you will come on my journey with me, and enjoy it every step of the way. Because, despite the bad days, I absolutely LOVE my simple, chaotic life. I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Disclaimer: The title of this is "Not So Hot Mess Mama", because there is never a day when I can consider myself a "Hot Mess". Make-up is a luxury often declined to me by a son who needs something, my hair...well....let's not even go there. And don't be expecting a lot of fashion advice here. Yoga pants and tank tops = my daily wardrobe. Remember, I never claimed to be awesome, I claimed to be REAL.
